South Korea's Marine Corps adopted this distinctive camouflage pattern in the late 1970s. It first appeared during the Ssangyong (Twin Dragons) 1978 field exercise . It served the South Korean Marines until 1991 when South Korea swapped every branch to one woodland pattern.
